Rainbow Dash standing next to her G1 counterpart, Firefly.

Firefly was a big star on her TV special, Rescue at Midnight Castle and became the well known pony. She also happens to be Lauren Faust's favorite pony, hence her username, :devfrye-flye:

Firefly is a tomboy as she loves to do dangerous tricks such as double inside loop. Faust couldn't use her for FIM because of Hasbro loosing copyrights of this character so she had to redesign Firefly by using the Gen 3 Rainbow Dash colors and change the symbol to make it similar to Firefly.

Gen 3 Rainbow Dash was always girly and is into fashion, never was a tomboy. :B

firefly: race me through everfree forest
rainbow dash: uncool, no pony should go through that dangerous place
firefly scoffs: DANGER IS MY LIFE RAINBOW DASH
rainbow dash: who the hay think your are, daring doo

bronies seem to forget that firefly is not as fast as rainbow dash, her trade mark move is the double loop-de-loop and rarity would admire her as she dances gracefuly across the clouds

here a question? does fanon would think rainbow dash would be a younger or older sister to baby firefly

Yep, that's sounds just like Firefly if she was in the show. XD

I think it's because of her lighting symbol and it symbolizes speed so it's probably why Bronies assumed that she would be as fast as RD.

Some do while others think that she's also either an ancestor or a mother to Baby Firefly. :)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh *_____________* Firefly (Feuerfunke in german) was my most beloves pony when I was lil. I even took it with me to school XD I wished it would be still mine...but it got lost ;_;

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that. I had a My Little Pony fakie(it was a yellow unicorn with rainbow hair) and some kid stole it from my cubby when I was away on the school trip. I never knew who took it and the teachers didn't see the culprit. :(

Why is the head a different shade compared to the rest of the body?

According to the members of MLP Arena forum, they believed it's the factory that was producing ponies and since they tend to reause the head style, the cause of the mismatch colors. You can read more reasons on this forum because a lot of members purchased those toys also have the same problem. [link]

They didn't have that problem in G1 and G2 ponies.
